ARTICHOKES
IN EXTRA ViRGIN OLIVE OIL
GUSTI ITALIA artichokes are produced starting from fresh and not brine rough materials (that's to say stored in tanks with water and salt during the crop and then re-worked during the year) harvested only in Italy and belonging to the variety “Violetta” and the like.
Our assortment also includes the “alla contadina” product, that means seasoned with spices and aromas scattered in the oil, and the “alla romana” artichoke with stalk. The last one is a very particular processing, carried out completely by hand ( this is clearly visible from the cleaning cut of the stalk) and starting from little size rough materials (thus being guarantee of taste and tenderness of the product).
The Italian artichoke is always light with green nuances and the leaves are in percentage very copious compared to the heart usually less palatable and tough.
The grilled artichokes are all roasted by hand on the hotplate. There is a very light flavouring thus not covering the base taste of the vegetable itself. The artichoke is grilled on both sides.
